About Bard To Broadway ...
Welcome to our eighth season of repertory theatre in Oceanside, Vancouver Island!
President's Message:
2008 – B2B’s ninth season, brings an exciting new beginning for us – our first season in the Chrysler Theatre. The new venue, and the incredible enthusiasm and support we have received from the City of Parksville and the Parksville Community & Conference Centre have in many ways, given us new life. Our creative team, lead by Artistic Director Gary Brown, has revelled in the opportunities that come with this venue. The staging of our shows has achieved a new level. I am pleased and excited that you are here to enjoy with us another season of theatre in Oceanside.
Once again, what you will see is the result of a large group of extremely skilled, talented, and dedicated individuals from throughout the region working tirelessly at something they love. We welcome back some well-known performers from previous seasons, and as always, introduce some exciting new talent. All are part of a close-knit family of supportive and committed individuals – whether their involvement is on stage or behind the scenes.
The encouragement and development of new talent (both young and old) is an exciting part of our mandate. Our education programming features local instructors for youth vocal and theatre performance, and internationally acclaimed faculty at the Pacific Vocal Institute.
We appreciate the generous support we received from local businesses by way of sponsorships. Without them, the continued success of B2B would not be possible. Please make a note of who they are, and let them know that you appreciate the contribution they make. Enjoy the show!

Gary Brown - Artistic Director:
As
a director, actor, and artistic director of B2B Gary has seen
this theatre project take flight. What was once a dream is
now reality. B2B theatre has become the summer attraction
in the Oceanside area as we continue to bring to our audiences
some of the great Broadway musicals, theatre favourites and
new cutting edge scripts. For our performers, musicians and
technicians we strive to give them the opportunity to advance
their skills while pushing themselves to achieve more, creatively
than they thought they could.
Gary has had the amazing opportunity to work with some of the best talent and technicians in BC. It has been his privilege to direct Fiddler on the Roof, Mame, Oklahoma, Man Of LaMancha and most recently Urinetown the Musical as well as many straight comedies. Some of his favorite roles include Harry in Luv, Sakini in Teahouse of the August Moon, Psuedolus in Forum, Charlie in The All Night Strut, Manley in Housekeeper, Hamlet in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged, and Old Man Strong in Urinetown.
To be surrounded by actors, musicians, technicians, directors, and Board members who continue to support and encourage each other in the truest meaning of an " ensemble" is one of the most amazing facets of Bard To Broadway.
Theatre is not only about the actors, directors and crew but about the audience as well. Without you, we would never experience this magical event called live theatre. Enjoy!
Gary Brown, Artistic Director
